Tourists rescued after 12 hours from Nagarkot forest

Kathmandu, Aug 18: Three Indian nationals and their Nepali guide who had been missing in the Nagarkot forest of Bhaktapur have been rescued safely after 12-hour they were incommunicado.     

Changunarayan municipality Mayor Jivan Khatri confirmed that the missing Indian tourists were Nitin Tiwari, Rashmi Tiwari, Tanish Tiwari and a Nepali guide Hari Prasad Kharel. They were rescued safely after a 12-hour. They had gone missing from Muhan Pokhari Rani Jhula area in the district.     

They went missing after they could not figure out the way to Rani Jhula area and disappeared after they mistakenly moved towards a forest, it was said.     

Following the news of their disappearance, Mayor Khatri took to social media and urged social support in locating the missing tourists.     

A coordinated rescue operation including a team of Armed Police Force, people's representatives and local residents was launched immediately after the report of their disappearance.     

During the search operation, the missing ones were found today at Halhale Khowpa (Kholchi) area, it was shared.     

The rescued individuals were safely handed over to the Police Department at Kharipati, informed Gokarna Puri, Mayor Khatri's personal secretary.(RSS)
