9th Model United Nations National Conference to begin on Aug 15

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug 13: The ninth Model United Nations national conference is going to be organised at Kapan on Aug 15.

More than two hundred students from 25 academic institutions from Kathmandu Valley, Rupandehi, Chitwan, Dhanusa and Nawalpur will take part in a three-day long conference.

Students will be convened to debate on the pressing global issues of today’s time into different simulated committees by wearing diplomatic hats with the theme of 'Where Young Minds Convene to Negotiate'.

After the conference, the students will promulgate resolutions of the conference.

Along with Deepayan Basu Ray, the Director at the UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD), Madhuraman Acharya, former secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will present their valuable remarks. 

Executive director of the Reliance education network, Rabindra Jung Thapa has said that the conference will enrich students’ leadership, communication and negotiation skills.

Conference director, Dilip Nepal, said that the three-day conference will ingrain fundamental knowledge of diplomacy, peace-building process and international relations.
