Nepali swimmer Alexander sets new national record

Kathmandu, July 29: Nepali swimmer Alexander Shah has set a new national record in men's 100m freestyle. The record was created during ongoing Paris Olympics-2024.     

Shah improved his own record of 52.17 seconds by completing the set distance in 51.91 seconds in heat 3 held at La Defense Arena in Paris, France. He came third in heat 3 including eight swimmers.     

 A total of 79 players competed in the same category and Shah finished in 59th position.     

Along with Alexander, Shantu Shrestha of table tennis, Sushmita Nepal of shooting, Duwana Lama of swimming and Manita Shrestha Pradhan of judo represented Nepal in the Summer Olympics. They have all been eliminated in the first round of their respective sport.(RSS)
