32 kgs of Yarsagumba exported from Manang

Manang, July 27: The work of Yarsagumba or Cordyceps sinensis collection has been completed in the lower belt of Manang. A total of 32.5 kgs of Yarsagumba has been exported from lower Manang this season.     

Revenue worth Rs 1.65 million was collected from the Yarsagumba export, according to Dhak Bahadur Bhujel, Head of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) unit in Manang. A fee of Rs 51,000 per kg has been charged for the export of Yarsa.     

Around 200 people had acquired permit to collect Yarsagumba from Namke area of the district.     

 According to Bhujel, Namke in Manang is the first destination for collecting Yarsa. Both locals as well as people from outside districts are allowed to collect Yarsagumba.     

A fee of Rs 35,000 per person has been fixed for obtaining a permit for Yarsagumba collection.(RSS)
