By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 26: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that since the current government has been formed to maintain good governance in the country, it will work accordingly.

In a meeting held with the officials and members of the Federation of Nepalese Indigenous Journalists (FoNIJ) today, Minister Gurung said that good governance will be maintained only with proper representation of all classes and communities in the agencies of the country.

Saying that he is looking into the issues in the Nepali communication sector that need to be solved, he said," I will try to work in balance and try to solve the problems of the communication sector through proper policies.'

Mentioning that the trend of having two official heads in public organizations will increase the mutual conflict, he said that efforts will be made to resolve it.

Stating that he has seen the same problem in the government media, Minister Gurung said that there is no alternative than to make the government media the best.

The chairman of the FoNIJ Gajur Dhan Rai suggested that the media policy and law for the management and regulation of the communication sector should be inclusive.

He said that the Nepali communication sector will not flourish due to the non-inclusiveness of the media sector.

On the occasion, Senior Vice-Chair Lucky Chaudhary, Vice-Chair Amardhwaj Lama, and Executive Secretary General Samir Balami gave suggestions on the challenges and issues of the Nepali communication sector. Other officials also participated in the meeting.
