Lawmaker Giri demands immediate resumption of power supply to industries

Kathmandu, July 23: CPN (UML) lawmaker Padam Giri has said a situation of shutting down the industries for not getting electricity should be ended.     

During the urgent hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, he pointed out the need of resuming power supply immediately as per the directive of the Prime Minister, adding industries are closed in lack of electricity.     

"On the one hand, there is a situation of the power produced in the country not getting market while on the other hand there is a situation of closing the industries for not getting electricity. This problem should be resolved immediately," added Giri.     

Similarly, Rajendra Kumar KC of the Nepali Congress demanded the government to take action against the guilty by carrying out investigation into the issue related to bribe said to have been given by lawmaker Dr Birendra Mahato for getting the equivalence of educational certificate for his son.     

Presenting the details of physical losses caused by landslide and flood in Nuwakot district, Hit Bahadur Tamang of the CPN (Maoist Centre) stressed that the government should be sensitive to curb further risk of disaster.     

Likewise, Gyan Bahadur Shahi of the Rastriya Prajaantra Party demanded to take action against those making publicity against Sanatana religion while Ranendra Baraili of the CPN (Maoist Centre) drew government's attention to involve in search of missing buses and passengers.     

Manish Jha of the Rastriya Swatantra Party asked the Foreign Ministry to brief the House about the condition of Nepalis in Bangladesh. He expressed concern over disruption of operation of regular service at Janaki Eye Hospital due to conflict of two groups.(RSS)
