Karsang’s workshop underway

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 18: A workshop for the film ‘Karsang’ has been running in Kathmandu for several days.

 Produced by Yarsa Films and Purushottam Pradhan Films, shooting of the movie will begin soon, said the production team.  

Actor Dayahang Rai, who plays the lead role, has joined the workshop. 

The production team held a script blessing ceremony in the presence of the Buddhist monks a few months ago.

The main cast includes Dayahang Rai, Srijana Ningleku, Jitu Nepal, Dia Maskey, Buddhi Tamang, Chhiring Sherpa and Sarita Giri. 

Srijana and Chhiring are debuting as new leads in the film. Srijana has previously worked in music videos while Chhiring has acted in films and music videos of the Sherpa community and won the television reality show 'Dancing Star Nepal Season 2'.

Additionally, Maotse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Samrat Chhetri, Rashi Limbu, Sohan Thapa, Karma Sherpa, Choki Sherpa, Pawan Gole, Sanjay Dhungana and Srishti Dhungana will also be doing  the film.

Directed by Yama Sherpa, ‘Karsang’ is his debut feature film.

 Sherpa, who has directed many short films, also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogue.

 Purushottam Pradhan is the producer and the director of photography (DOP).

 The film is co-produced by Govind Bohora, with Angchhiring Sherpa as the executive producer and Birendra Shahi as the line producer.

The film will be shot in various locations within Barhabise Municipality and Bhotekosi Rural Municipality in the coming days. 

RR Films will handle distribution across the country.
