By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 16: A lifetime of legacy was celebrated with the book launch, Life is (not) a tale, authored by Fr. Dr. Augustine Thomas S.J. the Principal of St.Xavier’s College, Maitighar.
Issuing a press release St.Xavier’s College informed that on the occasion of the 36th Foundation Day of the college and the 65th Annual Anniversary of Tribhuvan University, the book was jointly released by Regional Superior of Nepal Jesuit Society, Fr. Amrit Rai S.J, one of the founding members of the college, Nirmal Krishna Shrestha and former Miss Nepal, Sadichha Shrestha.
According to one of the reviewers, Fr. James Amakatt, S.J., the book will show how to 'Know Yourself’ and be contemplative. The book, which was conceptualised in 2009, took more than a decade to come to life and amasses recollections of Fr. Augustine’s life and experiences.
Author Fr. Dr. Augustine Thomas, S.J. said, “Being involved in the holistic development of young people in college, I became part of their struggles, questions, and confusions about life, god, purpose, relationships, family and more. As I listened to stories of people, I felt that people undergo similar struggles in their pursuit of a purposeful and harmonious life."
Drawing from his experiences, he wrote a book named Life Is (not) a Tale highlighting key points about life that matter in day-to-day existence and offers small steps to incorporate happiness into daily living.
On the occasion, former Miss Nepal and alumnus of the college, Sadichha Shrestha reflected on her time as a student, praising the college for having prepared her for a career and a life.
