Country sees 67.3% paddy plantations so far

Kathmandu, July 15: As of now, the country has reported 67.3 per cent completion of paddy plantation for the season. Official data shows that paddy has been cultivated in 940,500 hectares of land.     

According to provincial data, the progress is as follows: 61.7 per cent in Koshi, 69.2 per cent in Bagmati, 75 per cent in Gandaki, 66.7 per cent in Lumbini, 78 per cent in Karnali, and 86 per cent in Sudurpaschim Province, said Hari Bahadur KC, spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. This week, paddy planting has accelerated due to adequate rainfall. (RSS)
