Hima Rural Municipality-1 declared child marriage-free

Jumla, June 19: Bimu Pariyar from Hima Rural Municipality-1 recently appeared in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from Shahadev Secondary School. Currently, Bimu is actively involved in a campaign against child marriage.

Similarly, Shushil Adhikari has also joined the child club and is actively participating in the campaign against child marriage in the village.After organising the campaign against child marriage, the ward has officially declared itself a child marriage-free zone.

The ward has achieved the status through the involvement of mother groups and children from the village. 

The rural municipality has declared the ward child marriage-free zone after meeting 25 indicators in collaboration with various partner agencies. 

The ward was declared a child marriage-free zone with the slogan “Marriage after 20 years,” and “Solidarity of all of us is the commitment of child marriage-free Hima Rural Municipality.”

The declaration ceremony was attended by people’s representatives, government employees, and representatives of organisations, parents, students, journalists, security personnel, and locals.

Ward chairman Ratan Bahadur Shahi announced that the ward is now free from child marriage after meeting all indicators.
