Deepak Raj Kaliraj wins first prize in singing competition

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 17: Deepak Raj Kaliraj from Makwanpur received the award for topping the singing competition on Saturday. Likewise, Raja Rajput from Dhanusha received the prize and Suraj Khati from Rupandehi the third prize. 

 The finale of the National Youth Singing Competition was held in Bhaktapur on Thursday. 

The event was organised by the National Youth Council, Ministry of Youth and Sports and co-organised by Mission Sanchar Multimedia Group. 

Music composer B.P. Wagle, folk singer Devi Gharti Magar, and singer Bhadra Oli were the judges of the competition from the digital auditions to the physical auditions and the final round. 

Lyricists B. Pandey, Suman Bairagi, and Ganesh Subedi were given the responsibility to compose the lyrics of the new song to be recorded by the winners. 

The role of music composition was assigned to music composer B.P. Wagle.

At the closing ceremony of the competition held at the Nepal Tourism Board Hall, journalists who have contributed to the field of journalism for a long time have been honoured.

Journalists including Prakash Chandra Timilsina, C.B. Adhikari, Sukrit Nepal, Nabin Giri and Tara Subedi were honoured with a letter of appreciation in the presence of Surendra Basnet, Executive Vice-President of the National Youth Council.
