By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 25: Bipin Joshi’s mother, Padma Joshi and his sister Pushpa Joshi met with President Ramchandra Paudel on Sunday. Joshi, a student from Mahendranagar, was taken hostage by the Palestinian group Hamas in October 2023. 

Recently, with the coordination of the Nepali Embassy in Israel, Bipin’s mother and sister had travelled to Israel where they had high-level political discussions with the Israel’s President, Prime Minister, and ambassadors from several nations. 

During the meeting, they briefed the President that the issue has now drawn international attention and urged greater efforts for Bipin’s release.

Bipin’s mother Padma stressed that her son is an innocent student and appealed for humanitarian intervention.

They also expressed their sorrow that they have not received any information about Bipin’s condition and whereabouts.  

Speaking on the occasion, President Paudel assured Bipin’s family that he would intensify efforts to secure Bipin’s safe release.

Bipin was abducted on October 7, 2023, at the age of 22. He had travelled to Israel from Nepal to study agriculture.
