Discussions on teachings of Lord Buddha in Islamabad

Kathmandu, May 30: The Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad, Pakistan, organized a programme to mark the 2568th Buddha Jayanti on Tuesday. 

On the occasion, discussions were held on the teachings of Lord Buddha. 

The Buddhist monks from Nepal and Pakistan as well as Pakistani nationals were present on the occasion. 

Addressing the event, Nepal's Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari the philosophy of Buddhism including non-violence, affection, compassion, empathy and others are useful for human life, the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad said.      

Stating that Lumbini and Takshashila carry great importance in Buddhist philosophy, Ambassador Adhikari described the Nepal government's efforts made for develop Lumbini as the centre of the world peace. He also praised the Government of Pakistan for its efforts in the conservation and promotion of Gandhara civilization.   

Former Minister Dr Keshav Man Shakya, Buddhist scholars and different other personalities were present on the occasion. (RSS)
