By Our Correspondent,Banke, May 13: ‘Banke Shatabdi Sahitya Grantha’ published by Bheri Sahitya Samaj, was unveiled in Nepalgunj along with a training programme on book review and criticism writing on Sunday.

The 537-page book written by Ishwari Rijal delves into various facets of Banke’s language, folk literature and literary contributions from 1963 BS to the present. The event was graced by esteemed figures including critic Prof. Dr. Krishna Ghimire, veteran storyteller Sanat Regmi, senior Urdu writer Abdul Latif Shouk and writer Hari Timilsina among others. 

 Dr. Ghimire and storyteller Regmi led the book review, while writers Khagendra Giri Kopila and Pankaj Shrestha provided textual commentaries.

Reviewers and commentators hailed the book as a significant addition to Banke’s literary landscape, applauding both the author and the publisher for their contribution. 

The volume encompasses a comprehensive history of Banke’s literary journalism, literary associations, libraries, and profiles of all Banke-based authors, totaling 117, including 20 specific authors who significantly contributed to Banke’s language literature and nine external authors who enriched Banke’s literary domain.

During the event, author Ishwari Rijal shared insights into the writing process, while editor-in-chief Hari Timilsina shed light on the book's meticulous editing, structured across eight chapters, covering a wide array of subjects.

In the programme’s second session,  Rajkumar Tharu and Prof. Dr. Krishna Ghimire imparted training on literary review and critical writing to over 60 writers and critics in attendance.
