blog

By our Correspondent, Humla, May.1: China is assisting Nepal in the construction of a concrete bridge over the Karnali River in Hilsa, an area bordering China. To make travel in Hilsa easier, the Chinese side will complete the construction process within one year.

The Chinese side will begin the bridge-building process in May and will complete it in a year. It is said that by this time next year, vehicles could pass through the bridge.

The entire budget for the bridge construction will be borne by the Chinese government.

Binod Pokhrel, Chief District Officer (CDO), said that during a meeting between the officials of the two countries, the Chinese side informed the Nepali team about building the bridge to which the Nepali side consented.

The Chinese side has requested the Nepali team to build a suitable environment for the Chinese workers and technicians to build the bridge, he said.

The Nepali side, before the commencement of the project, has requested the names of Chinese workers and technicians who will be in Nepal.

Both sides believe that the concrete bridge will make transportation easier in Hilsa.

Currently, the area has a suspension bridge and a bailey bridge constructed by the Nepal government.
