By Our Correspondent,Gulmi, Apr. 16: District Administration Office, Gulmi, has started an operation to confiscate all illegal weapons that are in the possession of different individuals without license.  Chief District Officer Krishna Prashad Sharma said that the District Administration Office will seize arms and weapons that have not been renewed for more than five years. According to the circular of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the District Security Committee has taken the decision.

According to the decision of the District Security Committee, if the weapons registered in the district are not renewed within the deadline, they should be renewed immediately according to the rules, said Sharma.

CDO Sharma said that a notice has been issued to submit unlicensed weapons that have not been renewed for more than five years to the District Administration Office, District Police Office, or the nearest police station by mid-May, 2024.

The District Administration Office, Gulmi, has started the operation taking security sensitivity into account. Licensed weapons that have not been renewed for more than five years will be revoked and confiscated, he said.

Since arms should be used only by licensed persons, the use of weapons by unauthorised person is always discouraged. He said that altogether 281 weapons are registered in the district.
