NEPSE drops marginally by 2.35 points, turnover amounts to Rs. 3.06 billion

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 15: The share market has decreased marginally on Sunday, the first trading day of the week and very first trading day of Nepali new year 2081 B.S. The benchmark of share market index, NEPSE, has decreased by 2.35 points (0.11 per cent) to close at 2,023.35 points. 

However, the sensitive index which measures the performance of group ‘A’ companies increased by 0.01 points to close at 358.20 points today.

According to NEPSE, sub-indices of banking, hotels and tourism, others, development bank, manufacturing and processing, non-life insurance, life insurance, mutual fund and investment group have decreased while the sub-indices of hydropower, finance, trading and microfinance group have increased.

Sub-index of the non-life insurance group posted the highest fall of 109.38 points followed by the life insurance and manufacturing and processing group whose indices decreased by 71.85 points and 29.98 points respectively.

Similarly, the sub-index of banking group decreased by 3.46 points, hotels and tourism by 15.87 points, others by 7.09 points, manufacturing and processing by 29.98 points, mutual fund by 0.13 points and investment by 0.62 points.

However, the sub-index of microfinance has posted a significant growth of 76.56 points while the sub-index of hydropower increased by 9.71 points, finance by 21.06 points and trading by 14.09 points. A total of 7,795,023 shares worth Rs. 3.06 billion of 320 companies were bought and sold in 59,041 transactions today. 

Share price of Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha decreased by 10 per cent, Himalayan 80-20 by 4.41 per cent and Terhathum Power Company by 4.38 per cent in today’s transaction. However, share price of Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha increased by 20 per cent, NIC ASIA Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha by 9.72 per cent and Dolti Power Company by 9.35 per cent.
