Quake victim's shelter catches fire in Rukum West

By Our Correspondent,Rukum West, Mar. 29: A fire broke out in a temporary shelter of an earthquake victim in Rukum West. 

A temporary house built by Khadka Oli in Sanibheri Rural Municipality-4 caught fire on Wednesday evening. 

According to Ward Chairman Manoj Budhathoki, the fire broke out in Oli's temporary residence because of an electrical short circuit.

Oli's house was damaged by the November 3, earthquake. As Khadka Oli is a migrant worker, his wife and daughter were in the temporary shelter when the fire broke out. 

Budhathoki said that apart from the shelter, goods worth almost Rs. 250,000 were destroyed in the fire. 

Rags, clothes, food, two mobile phones and other things kept on the terrace turned into ashes. 

There was no human loss from the fire, and the fire was brought under control with the help of locals and the police.
