By Karun Aryal, London, Feb 25: Foreign Minister NP Saud has appreciated the Nepali diaspora for playing the role of a bridge between their mother land and work land besides promoting Nepal’s identity and image abroad.
Addressing an interaction of the Nepali professionals working in the UK organised by the Embassy of Nepal in the UK through virtual means, Foreign Minister Saud also mentioned that the Nepali diaspora has also played an important role in national transformation campaign by investing in Nepal after learning professional skills and by deepening bilateral relations through their positions in the government offices.
He said Nepali diaspora’s role will be important in supplying human capital in addition to financial one, which Nepal lacks.

He said that the government has the
policy to mobilise Nepali diaspora to preserve and promote Nepal's arts,
languages, culture and diverse natural, historical heritages and to utilise
their knowledge, skill, technology and capital and network as well as access
for national development.
Gyan Chandra Acharya, Nepal's ambassador
to the UK, talked about historical relations between Nepal and the Great
Britain and said the relations were deepening and expanding due to cooperation
and assistance.
He said Nepalis living in the UK have
been playing a significant role in the development of the mother land through
their knowledge, efficiency and experiences.
Dr. Tanka Barakoti, additional secretary
of Ministry of Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Chopa Lal Bhusal, Chairperson
of Nepal Medical Council, Dr. Bachchu Kailash Kaini, working in the UK as an
expert on hospital management, Dipak Bhattarai, Chairperson of Nepalese
Association, among others, also put forth their views in the interaction.
