By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 15: The
first statute convention of the CPN (Maoist Center) has concluded endorsing the
draft of the statute presented by the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal
'Prachanda', also the Prime Minister.
The statute endorsed has included many of the suggestions put forth by the
20 groups, each groups comprising 50-60 delegates of the party, on Wednesday
and Thursday.
Addressing the concluding session of the convention, PM and Maoist
Center Chair Prachanda viewed that the statute convention has been very civilized
and that it will help party building and holding the special general convention
of the party.
In his concluding remarks, Chairman Prachanda, also the PM, said that all committees of the party will be formed through direct voting system based on people's democracy from the upcoming special general convention of the party, according to the party secretariat.

He said office bearers of the party will also be chosen as per the
direct voting system.
The central committee of the CPN (Maoist Center) will be a 199-member
body following the special convention and that there will be an 11-member
central office, said Chairman Prachanda, also the Prime Minister.
On name and election symbol of the party, Chairman Prachanda said they
will be kept as it is for now and they could be changed when many communist
parties are united and the time demands so.
