By Thakur Prasad Acharya,Baglung, Jan. 27: Preparations for the Bramandhiya Mahayagya at Panchakot, a renowned religious site in Baglung, are going on with zeal and zest.
To transform Panchakot in Baglung Municipality-6 into a prominent religious tourist destination, the Bramandhiya Maha Yagya is scheduled to be held from February 19 to March 4, 2024, as per the decision of Muktinath Pithadhishwar Swami Kamalanayanacharya.
Sudarshan Prapannacharya, the spokesperson for the Maha Yagya, said that the aim of the event includes elevating the stature of Muktikshetra and Shaligram to the global stage, inspiring the Vedic Sanatan Hindu society to safeguard and preserve Nepal's water resources, and reviving moral values to foster a progressive and ethical Nepali society.
He mentioned that the construction of necessary infrastructure and publicity for the Maha Yagya has been intensified. Currently, activities such as maintenance, painting, tent construction and the building of Habankunda (holy fire-making place) on the premises of religious shrines in Panchakot are going on.
The funds collected from the Maha Yagya will be utilised to complete the construction of the Bishwashanti Kalash in Panchakot, along with the construction of the religious shrines in Panchakot Dham.
Rudra Bahadur KC, the ward chairman of Baglung Municipality-6 and vice-chairman of the Sarbasiddhi Dham Panchakot Greater Development Committee, said that they aim to develop Panchakot as a tourist and religious destination by constructing a 108-feet-tall Kalash.
"Arrangements have been made to install 5,555 kg bells in Panchakot. Through the Maha Yagya, we aim to collect funds and transform Panchakot into a significant religious tourist destination, attracting millions of religious tourists and devotees from Nepal and India,” said KC.
“We aim to develop Panchakot as the gateway to the prominent religious site Muktinath. The pitcher being constructed here will have thirteen floors, resembling that of a house, and a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared for this purpose. Despite its external appearance, there will be 16 rooms inside the Kalash. The rooms will be utilised for conducting religious activities,” KC informed.
It is estimated that the investment in infrastructure construction amounts to approximately Rs. 4 billion. The funds generated from Maha Yagya and the contribution from the Government of Nepal would be utilised to develop Panchakot.
Karna Bahadur KC, Coordinator of the Panchakot Construction Committee, informed that significant structures are presently under construction in Panchakot. These include the temple of Gandaki Mata, Hanuman's statue 'Sis Mahal', Hanuman Batika, Gandaki Gopal Gaushala, and other small temples.
Infrastructure development work in Panchakot, covering an area of over 200 ropanis of land, has been done through financial aid collected by the Akhanda Jyoti Baba Swami Sriji Charitable Trust, the founder of Kamalanyanacharya.
