NC Syangja honours democracy warriors

By Our Correspondent,Waling, Jan. 26:The Syangja chapter of the Nepali Congress (NC) has honoured various personalities who contributed to political transformation and establishment of democracy in the country on the occasion of its first district convention.

The party's national President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba honoured eight individuals who fought for democracy and people's rights during the democratic movements of 1951, 1990 and 2006.

The party felicitated 96-year-old Bholanath Lamsal, 87-year-old Tarapati Subedi, 86-year-old Bed Prasad Paneru, 82-year-old Bishwo Prem Adhikari, 80-year-old Narsingh Thakuri, 74-year-old Khagendra Raj Regmi, 74-year-old Shalik Ram Neupane and 74-year-old Shree Prasad GT. They were feted as democratic warriors.
