By Kamal Khatri, Nepalgunj, Jan 9: The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Police had started checking with the collaboration with traffic police on December 3. Since, then, police have taken under 623 e-rickshaw.
Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has taken under control 32 e-shaws that were running against the rules.
The Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan police have strictly implemented the checking process.
Pawan Kanojia, Assistant Inspector of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City said that lately, Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan has been taking action against e-rickshaws that are not listed in the city or are not registered with the transport office and do not have temporary driver licenses. As part of this, 32 e-rickshaws were taken under control on Sunday.
He said that 15 e-rickshaws that came with necessary documents were released after the holding of the e-rickshaw.
The disruption in e-rickshaw management was observed with the number of surging e-rickshaws in the city.
The accident in the city has also increased as many e-rickshaw drivers are not aware of the traffic rules.
As the challenge in the e-rickshaw was being observed Mayor of the Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City, Prashant Bista, had devised a working plan for its management.
The number of vehicle registrations and driver's licenses has increased as the checking is strictly implemented in the city.
As many as 531 e-rickshaws were released without any fine after they brought necessary documents, while, 92 e-rickshaws being driven without any necessary documents are still under the control of city police.
