Hetauda, Dec 29: Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, has said the federal government should entrust powers to each province as soon as possible to make federalism sustainable and strong.
At a programme organised at Hetauda of Makawanpur, Chief Minister Yadav urged the federal government to distribute revenue at provinces and local levels in a justifiable manner.
He further said a meeting of Chief Ministers of all seven provinces organised at Hetauda of Makawanpur today itself would submit a report along with different suggestions to the federal government.
The Chief Minister laid emphasis that the three-tier government should honestly involved to make the people aware of federalism and republic.
Similarly, the Chairperson of the Municipal Association of Nepal, Bhim Prasad Dhungana, and the Chairperson of the National Federation of Rural Municipalities, Laxmi Devi Pandey, said the existing laws should be revised to make people's representatives perform their responsibilities at local levels as per the sentiments of federalism and constitution.
They mentioned that federalism should move ahead by distributing the budget equally to province and local government without neglecting local levels. (RSS)
