Karnali beats Chitwan to enter NPL Qualifier 2

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 18: Karnali Yaks has been qualified for Qualifier 2 of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Cricket beating Chitwan Rhinos by 21 runs in the Eliminator match on Wednesday at Kirtipur.

Following a target of 176 runs Chitwan scored just 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs spell in 9 wickets. 

Chitwan's Ravi Bopara hit a half-century making 53 runs, Captain Kushal Malla scored 21 runs, Bipin Rawal 18, Luc Benkenstein 16, Sharad Vesawkar 10, Amar Routela 9, Santosh Karki 8, Rijan Dhakal 7 and Hassan Eisakhil hit 1 run.

To stop Chitwan in the 154 runs Karnali's bowler Zeeshan Maqsood took three wickets alone. Similarly, Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each. Bipin Sharma took one wicket. 

With the loss, Chitwan Rhinos has been knocked out of the competition.

In the first inning, Karnali posted a target of 176 runs for Chitwan Rhinos.
