By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Dec 13: Distribution of the Nissa, records of land share, has started in different municipalities in Banke to provide the landownership certificate to the landless and poor people of Banke district.
The share of land was distributed to 350 landless and squatters in the Janaki Rural Municipality-6 of Banke district in the process. It will open the door to obtaining a landownership certificate.
The nissa was distributed by organizing a programme under the leadership of the National Land Commission, Banke to Dalit landless people of Janaki Rural Municipality-6.
Shrawan Kumar Yadav, district Chairperson of the National Land Commission, Banke, said that this is the first time since any land-related work has been commenced in the Janaki Rural Municipality-6, Banke. The work of providing land ownership certificate will follow immediately in Ward 6.
Ashok Pokharel, an expert of the National Land Commission, Banke, said that the work is in progress despite having an insufficient workforce.
He said that all should join hands in the campaign of giving land ownership certificates to the landless Dalits and squatters, allowing them to be the owner of the land.
There was a participation of the Chhabwan Kha, Chairperson of the Janaki Rural Municipality, Jagadish Harijan, chair of ward-6, and members of the ward, Mina Sigdel, Bhagwati Adhikari.
