Bhaktapur, Dec 12: General
Secretary of CPN (Maoist Centre) Dev Gurung has asserted that government had
been successful to uphold national unity and good governance.
At an interaction organized by the
Rafat Sanchar Club, Bhaktapur on Monday, General Secretary Gurung viewed the
government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' should now make
headway to socialism.
"At a time when the country is
moving ahead with its achievements, some elements were fomenting anarchy and causing
instability by raising the issue of feudalism and religious state," Gurung
said, arguing if the country is enfeebled, it witnesses foreign meddling. He
also cautioned everyone towards it.
The government has adopted the
policy of upholding good governance by wiping out corruption, smuggling and
commission seeking, according to him. As a result, those involved in gold
smuggling were being arrested.
Moreover, the General Secretary
claimed that those involved in the Ncell share sale would face action at any
cost. Even a committee has been formed to probe the case.
He however suggested the government
that it corrected mistakes and worked for people, thereby discoursing wrong
elements. National unity is national imperative, he underlined.
On a different note, Gurung shared
that discussion was underway for the unification of communist parties. (RSS)
