PCN’s 3rd full meeting of office bearers concludes adopting 13-point declaration

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 11: The third full meeting of the central office bearers of Press Center Nepal has concluded adopting a 13-point declaration today.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the meeting resolved to play intervening role through the press in uniformity against the regressive forces and for safeguarding the constitution and institutional development of federal democratic republic.

The meeting expressed support to the government’s steps against corruption and for good governance.

According to the 5^th point of the declaration, the meting demanded endorsement of laws related to commissions on enforced disappearance and truth and reconciliation for completing the remaining tasks of the peace process.

Proportional advertisement system should be fully implemented, read the declaration.

Self-employment generating media should be promoted by implementing the proportional advertisement distribution system by the provincial and local governments, according to the declaration.

The meeting also demanded mandatory implementation of accident insurance, health insurance for working journalists and warned the media houses against kicking working journalists from their jobs forcibly.
