Bhadgaon, Dec 1: A study is to be
conducted on the sexual and reproductive rights of HIV-infected women from the
indigenous nationalities community.
The Suruwat Community Care and Rehabilitation
Centre at Jhaukhel, Changunarayan Municipality-3 here is commissioning the
study in 22 districts of the country. The study is being conducted with the
support from Communities Alliance and Network (CAN), Canada.
The study to be started next week will include
the HIV-infected women between 16 to 45 years of age in the 22 districts
covering the seven provinces, and the mountainous, hilly and Terai
regions.
Suruwat's executive chief Rajesh Didiya said
although there have been many studies in the field of HIV/AIDS in Nepal, no
such study is carried out so far covering the indigenous nationalities. (RSS)
