9th Nepal International Trade Fair begins

Kathmandu, Nov 30: The 9th Nepal International Trade Fair organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry began at Bhrikutimandap here today. 

A total of 210 exhibition stalls from Bangladesh, India, China and Pakistan along with host Nepal are set up in the fair which will run until December 4.

Inaugurating the exhibition, Speaker Devraj Ghimire called for the establishment of an industrial environment based on the foundation of cordial relationships between the government and the private sector.

He also said that the government must play a special role in creating an investment-friendly environment with a political commitment to solve the problems facing the economy. 

Vice president of the Federation, Surkrishna Baidya said that the purpose of the fair is to attract investment to Nepal.

Deputy Director General of the Trade Development Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce of China, Deng Bi, said that trade relations between the two countries will be strengthened through the fair.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, and representatives of the industry and commerce sector were present during the inauguration. (RSS)
