By Lila Raj Khadka, Birtamod,  Nov.27: The inscription of Shree Pach on the statue of Prithivi Narayan Shah inaugurated by the former king Gyanendra Shah on November 25 has been removed.

The college ordered to remove it, following the disciplinary process against Eecohm College located at Birtamod-1 from the concerned authorities. It is said that the process for canceling the registration of the college has progressed.

The college made the former King Gyanendra Shah unveil the statue of His Majesty King Prithivi Narayan Shah as if there is kinship in the country. The unveiled statue was placed on the premises of Eecohm College in Birtamod Municipality-1, Jhapa.

Agni Prasad Pandey, ward chair at Birtamod Municipality-1, Jhapa said that disciplinary action has been taken against the college as it has directly broken the code of conduct of the constitution of the country.

Pandey said that a letter was sent to Eecohm College and an explanation will be sought and the education branch of Birtamod Municipality will be requested to cancel the registration. The colleges have removed the inscription after facing a massive protest.

The founding chairperson has accepted his mistake.

“Realizing that faulty language or wording was inscribed in the inscription, it has been removed from the statue,” said founding chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alok Kakri.

The wording will be rectified and Shree Pach will be replaced by the former king. The statue was unveiled by King Gyannendra on Saturday.

The Chief District Officer (CDO) Shiva Ram Pokharel had asked for an explanation after getting to know about this news. The administration had amended the wording after that. Eecohm College, where all three streams, science, management and arts, are taught, has been in operation for the last eight years.
