By Our Correspondent,Humla, Nov. 26: With a sad face, Sujata Bohora was sitting near the offices of airline companies, which were crowded with people, around Simkot Airport. She was fed up as it was the seventh day she had come in search of an air ticket to fly back to Kathmandu from Humla, a district not connected with the national road network.

Bohora, who studies in grade 12 in Kathmandu, had come to her hometown to celebrate the festivals of Dashain and Tihar. However, she has not been able to grab an air ticket to Kathmandu.

“My classes have already resumed. Meanwhile, I am here struggling for an air ticket. I feel I made a mistake coming back home,” said Bohora. Likewise, Man Bahadur Bohora said that he has already missed five days of his college waiting for a ticket. Man Bahadur said he studied engineering in Pokhara.

“There are around 40 students who are struggling for a ticket to return to different cities, such as Kathmandu, Surkhet, Nepalgunj and Pokhara, for their education. As it is uncertain of when we will get a ticket, some of us are planning to leave the district on foot,” said Man Bahadur.

Locals complained that Summit Air, an airline that flies with 18 passengers, only allowed to buy seven tickets through its office while it provided the remaining 11 tickets to people in power.

They also accused other airlines, including Sita, Tara, and Nepal, of selling tickets rampantly.
