Buying marigold garlands for Tihar (Photo Feature)
By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov.11: The second main festival of Hindu Tihar has started formally from today. With this, the sale of marigold garlands has started. There is a prominence of garland sales in the Kalimati and New Road areas.
In order to decorate a home, garland is used. Hundreds of garlands have been brought from villages to Kathmandu Valley for decoration.
Of the flowers, Gomphrena globosa, Chrysanthemums, and marigolds used to be imported from India, but lately, Nepal has become self-reliant on the production of marigolds.
