President Paudel cancels Europe visit

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 6: President Ramchandra Paudel has cancelled his visit to France, Italy and Germany with the conclusion that it is inappropriate to leave the country when the country is going through a devastating disaster.

Kiran Pokharel, Press advisor to President Paudel, through a press note, informed that a cabinet meeting made a decision to cancel a visit citing the dire situation, human casualties and damage to the property, of the country caused by the Jajarkot earthquake even though the President's visit was significant for the country. The visit was approved just a day before the earthquake jolted Jajarkot and Rukum Pashchim. 

The government signed ‘The Paris Agreement’ and was committed to 1.5 degrees Celsius temperature of the world, as well as Nepal’s ambitious goal of zero carbon emission by 2045. 

Likewise, President Paudel is scheduled to visit earthquake-affected areas on Tuesday morning.
