By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 6: The
Salt Trading Corporation is to provide up to 10 quintals of sugar to retailers
for sale, thanks to the initiatives taken by the office of the Council of
Ministers and the Prime Minister.
The Office of the Prime Minister has arranged for the Salt Trading Corporation to
purchase at least 3,000 metric tons of sugar from sugar mills as the shortage
of sugar surfaced in the market.
The PM
office has also directed chiefs of the security forces of the three districts
in the Kathmandu Valley to mobilise a monitoring team to for search sugar
purchased illegally and stored.
The retailers
can purchase the aforesaid amount of sugar from the Kalimati branch of Salt
Trading till today, Monday, and from Tuesday onwards they can get it from the Koteshwor branch of Salt Trading.
Arrangement
has been made in such a way that the customer can purchase sugar at Rs. 115 per
kg.
