Kathmandu, Nov 5 : The government has made a decision to provide Rs 200,000 per person who died due to the earthquake that struck Jajarkot on Friday night.
A meeting of the Council of
Ministers held at Singha Durbar this morning took a decision to this effect,
said government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information
Technology, Rekha Sharma. She said this assistance is the first phase immediate
relief.
Similarly, she said the Cabinet
paid tribute to the deceased persons and decided to expedite the rescue and
relief works and to provide free medical treatment to those injured in the
earthquake.
One hundred and fifty-seven people
lost their lives in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts as a 6.4 magnitude
earthquake with epicentre in Jajarkot hit the districts. (RSS)
