Yog Raj Dhakal 'Regal' sent to Banke Prison

By Gajendra Gurung, Khajura, Nov.3: Yog Raj Dhakal ‘Regal’ of Nepalgunj, who was arrested after the verdict of the Supreme Court  (SC), has been sent to the Prison Office, Banke, today.  

Saroj Nidhi Wagle, District Registrar at Banke District Court, said that he was sent to prison on Friday to serve the remaining 11 years and 11 months 5 days of jail time. SC gave a verdict about Regal jail term on Thursday. 

Prison Office, Banke, had presented Regal in front of the  Banke District Court today.

Narayan Dangi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Banke, said that Regal was presented in front of the Banke District Court for necessary action at 11 AM today.  

The SC has issued an order to cancel the government's decision to provide amnesty to Yog Raj Dhakal 'Regal' on Thursday. He was serving life in prison for the murder of Chetan Manandhar of Nepalgunj.

Regal was arrested soon after the verdict of SC, and as per the near ones of Regal he had surrendered himself after the SC verdict. 

President Ram Chandra Paudel on the occasion of the Constitution Day reduced Regal's prison terms on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
