Lights worth Rs 80 million to be installed at Surkhet Airport

By Nabin Subedi, Surkhet, Oct.28: Lights worth Rs 80 million are going to be installed at the Surkhet Airport.

Night flights will be started within three months, therefore, lights are being installed. 

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said that the work of installing Rs 80 million lights is underway at the runway at the moment. 

Rajan Dhungel, Chief of the Surkhet Airport said that lights will be installed as per the International Civil Aviation Organization (IACO) standard at the airport. The Department of the Electric of the CAAN has shouldered the work of installing lights for the purpose. 

The authority has arranged the budget for the current fiscal year 2080/81 for the installation of lights at the Surkhet Airport.

According to him, the contract process has already started. The budget has come at the time of budget allocation in the current fiscal year. This budget has not come immediately.

Stating that the CAAN has taken responsibility for the work, he said that it is not possible to say now whether to make a single or double circuit about the light connection.
