By Shashidhar Parajuli, Biratnagar, Oct 18: The chief minister of Koshi Province Kedar Karki has got vote of confidence today.
Chief Minister Karki presented the proposal for the vote of confidence in accordance with Article 168 (5) of the Constitution and received votes of confidence from CPN (UML), Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
Karki received 86 votes whereas five votes from Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) were cast against him.
In the provincial Assembly on Wednesday, except for the speaker, 91 members of the Provincial Assembly members were presented and one from RPP was absent.
Presenting the proposal of the vote of confidence, Chief Minister Karki said that he had to become the Chief Minister in a new situation to prevent the state from going to the mid-term elections by forming a stable government.
