By Rammani Dahal, Hetauda, Oct.13: Mahabir Gole from Phurke, Taha Municipality-5 in northern Makawanpur has regained his lost eyesight.
Gole who had lost his eyesight three years ago at 72 has regained his sight after an operation. His eyes were operated at the free camp conducted by the Tilganga Community Eye Centre, Palung.
Gole who is now 75 had come for an eye check-up with his two nephews’ at the free eye camp. The operation was conducted in the village on Thursday following the diagnosis of a cataract. He could not walk properly because of his poor sight.
Gole expressed his happiness that he had regained his lost eyesight after the surgery, he could see the world once the eye patch was removed by Bishnu Bahadur Bista, Mayor of the Taha Municipality.
Heatuda Community Eye Hospital conducted free eye checkups to 500 patients, of which, 73 were diagnosed with cataracts. Eye camp was held in the northern areas of Makwanpur that is Phurke, Moriya, Gogane, Deukhel, Naukhande and Bajrabarahi.
The operation was led by a team of Dr Sunil Thakali, Chief of Hetauda Community Eye Hospital.
