By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 30: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Friday reached Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province of China. After arriving in Chengdu, he held a meeting with the Chinese delegation led by Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Sichuan Province and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress.
Prime Minister Prachanda, who is on an official visit to China, held the meeting in Chengdu on Friday, said PM’s Secretariat.
In the meeting, Prime Minister Prachanda, recalling the high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang expressed his confidence that the visit to Chongqing, Tibet, and Sichuan, coupled with the meetings with party leaders, would mark a new milestone in implementing agreements and strengthening relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Prachanda said following the new trade agreement between Nepal and China, Nepal is no longer a land-locked country but a land-linked country, PM’s Secretariat informed.
Likewise, CPC’s Sichuan Province Secretary Wang also expressed his belief that Prime Minister Prachanda is a close friend of China, and under his leadership, the relations between Nepal and China will progress on a new foundation.
Wang also affirmed their commitment to implementing the agreement between Nepal and China.
The delegation led by Prime Minister Prachanda is set to return to Nepal on Saturday from Chengdu.
Prime Minister Prachanda arrived in Chengdu from Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, an autonomous region of China, on Friday afternoon.
Prime Minister Prachanda landed at Chengdu Airport at 2:30 pm local time. He was accompanied by other members of the Nepali delegation.
Upon his arrival at the Chengdu Airport, the Prime Minister was received by the Vice Governor of Sichuan Province Yang Xingping and other Chinese officials, PM’s Secretariat informed.
Prime Minister Prachanda also visited the panda breeding centre the same day.
He also attended a dinner hosted by Secretary Wang in the Prime Minister’s honour.During his stay in Tibet, Prime Minister Prachanda visited Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar Lake on Thursday and also held various bilateral meetings in Lhasa.
