2,411 police constables pass basic training across the country

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 25: A total of 2,411 police constables have completed their basic training at 10 schools and training centres of Nepal Police across the country. 

Graduation ceremonies were organised for the graduates in the respective schools and training centres on Sunday.

The training, which began on November 6, 2022, was 234 days long. According to Nepal Police Headquarters, of the 2,411 constables who graduated, 1,944 are men and 467 are women. 

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Bishnu Kumar KC handed over graduation certificates to 101 candidates who completed their training at Nepal Police's Armed Police Battalion No. 1 in Naxal, Kathmandu.

Similarly, DIGP Rabindra KC distributed the certificates to 103 candidates at Kathmandu Valley Police Training School in Maharajgunj.

Likewise, DIGP Kuber Kadayat, who is also the central spokesperson for Nepal Police, reached Nepal Police Tactical Training College in Jargaha of Nawalparasi to congratulate 189 police constables who graduated from the college.

The Nepal Police Headquarters informed that 295 police constables graduated from the Biratnagar-based Koshi Province Police Training Centre and 283 from the Janakpur-based Madhes Province Police Training Centre. The certificates were handed over in Sunday's graduation ceremonies in Biratnagar and Janakpur by DIGP Rajesh Nath Bastola and DIGP Janak Bhattarai respectively.

Meanwhile, DIGP Kiran Rana and DIGP Buddhi Raj Gurung distributed the certificates to 280 and 277 police constables who graduated from the Sindhuli-based Bagmati Province Police Training Centre and Pokhara-based Gandaki Province Police Training Centre respectively.

The Butwal-based Lumbini Province Police Training Centre and the Dipayal-based Sudurpashchim Province Police Training Centre produced 287 and 196 police constables respectively. The certificates were handed over by DIGP Umesh Raj Joshi and DIGP Bharat Bahadur Bohora respectively.

There were also 100 police constables who completed the training from the Police Training Centre in Budar, Doti.

The Karnali Province Police Training Centre, which is currently in Nepalgunj, also completed the training of 300 constables. DIGP Bhim Prasad Dhakal handed over the certificates during the ceremony. DIGPs in the training centres had directed the graduated constables to utilise their training for the safety and security of the citizens.
