BY Our Correspondent,Biratnagar, Sept.12: Manmohan Technical University established by the Koshi Province Government has become more capable in providing technical education along with improved infrastructure.
The University has already sufficient infrastructure. Still, a five-storey administrative building, a building for a museum and buildings for paramedics and basic science are under construction considering the future need.
Registrar Dr. Dil Nath Phuyal said, “The university has been offering diploma courses in civil, mechanical, electronic, electrical, information technology, architecture and electrical and electronic engineering.”
The university has introduced Bachelor of Civil Engineering and B. Pharmacy programmes. The third semester of the Bachelor programme in Civil Engineering is now running at the university, said Phuyal.
The university is planning to start the courses of Bachelor of Public Health and Bachelor of Naturopathy while we are introducing the Bachelor of Chemical Technology and Bachelor of Management programmes in the coming academic session, he added.
Phuyal informed that there is enough infrastructure like libraries and labs required for different academic programmes. He added, “Before starting any courses, the required infrastructure, including labs and library were built. The infrastructure needed for the Bachelor of Pharmacy programme which is beginning after two years has already been built”.
Registrar Phuyal further informed that a well-equipped lab required to test the quality of medicine is under construction, and it will come into operation after two years. The university is also running a ‘Book Bank’ programme and has established a well-managed library.
The university aims to make students more capable by equally focusing on theoretical and practical classes. The university that has been offering courses of excellent technical knowledge has also been encouraging students to apply the learned skills in practice.
The university has ultra-modern and well-equipped labs for civil engineering and electrical and electronic engineering.
Narendra Kumar Dangi, Assistant Professor, informed that students are practising in the highway lab, hydrology lab etc. The University has accommodated labs in four of its buildings.
“We are focusing on making the required infrastructure for the university and producing efficient manpower required by the state,” said Phuyal.
The University has built a hostel in the area of 22 Bighas, a staff quarter with the capacity to accommodate 50 families, a guest house, an auditorium hall, administrative buildings, departmental buildings and different labs.
Registrar Phuyal added that Manmohan Technical University is imparting quality education to students at nominal fees. There are enough scholarship programmes. “We are focusing on producing quality manpower required by market,” he said.
