Singer Bhandari's “Kina Timro Huna Sakina” released

blog

By Mannu Shahi,Shreejal Bikram Bhandari better known by his artiste name ShreeGo is a 17-year-old Pokhara-based influencer and singer. Born on June 10, 2006, in Lamachor of Pokhara, the singer is currently a high school attendee at Spiral Galaxy Academy.

The vlogger-turned-musician debuted with his first single “Banda Kotha” in December 2021 which he released via his official YouTube channel.

This was followed by his second release two months later in February 2022, ShreeGo published “Sanket”, featuring Prabesh Lama Gurung. This melancholic indie pop tune with its minimal arrangement and spotlight on vocal melodies and lyrics flaunted his calibre as a songwriter and cemented his place amidst the emerging young YouTube talents.

His third single “Harayeko Maya”, showcases the singer getting even more serious about production quality for both audio and video works. The singer featured Changa Productions on the video duties and B2 (Sanjal Bhandari) of Gain Studios on music production.

His fourth and most cherished song “Khoj” was directed/edited by Shayuj and Butterscotch; audio produced by B2; while the tune also features Manice Gandarva on sarangi. The song, which currently has a staggering 14 million streams, was published on YouTube in November 2022.

His fifth original song “Maya Marideu”, featuring popular rapper Yodda, was released in January 2023, with TWK on music production and Changa Production on video works.

This tune illustrates the singer experimenting with electro-pop and EDM influences, figuratively to break away from his usual, occasionally stagnant, trendy Nepali pop discography. Subsequent to this release, the singer published a few live acoustic versions of his famous tunes and also released a new track “Rangin Yaad”.

The stripped-down live acoustic performances were captured at Studio 5150 in Kathmandu and featured B2 on accompanying piano duty.

The singer’s sixth official track “Abhinaya” premiered in June 2023, features splendid arrangement and astounding guitar works by music producer B2; with Shayuj and Vikas Ranjitkar in video direction; and Banned Deenab as the executive producer.

The whole tune is aesthetically uplifted by the musical arrangement, filling the spaces proportionately as well as creating a dynamic arc throughout, which isn’t as apparent in the singer’s prior releases.

And, recently, the songster published his seventh single “Kina Timro Huna Sakina” on September 3, 2023. Currently trending #11 for music as per the Nepal moderated YouTube charts, the song once again features longtime collaborator B2 on music production.

The video is directed by ShreeGo himself, with Nimesh Chamling Rai on DOP; starring Nawang T. Bhutia and Leezum Yariboo; the project manager is Yoel Bro.

The singer plays safe in this tune, as he parades his writing abilities residing within his comfort zone. An ear-candy for his faithful demographic wanting the repetitive predictable ventures from this otherwise very promising young musician.

A short-sustained string section prelude over harmonizing keyboard chords paves the way for the vocals heaving the tune from these extended-chorus-like phrases functioning as the verse. The actual chorus and post-chorus section follow right after and precede the interlude break.

The second verse features the most commendable and catchy rhymes, throughout the song, evincing how simple phrases can create impactful results when done right.

The chorus kicks back once more followed by post-chorus and the song ends on the interlude outro.

The arrangement seems to be inspired by trendy Nepali pop tunes of the contemporary scene, however, given the singer’s tender age and his continuous collaborations with seasoned music producers, things only look brighter for

ShreeGo here onwards.
