By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 7: The second edition of Anavaran, an anthology of short stories by UK-based author Bijay Sapkota has been published recently. The book was previously published by Sabdik Books in 2016.
Published by Kalam Prakashan Kathmandu, the new edition has eleven short stories portraying the socio-political anomalies and inconsistencies of Nepal.
The title story tells the tragic story of an honest political activist who serves his party believing that it will lead the people to their true salvation. The stories are mostly set in the background of the conflict period (1996-2006) of Nepal. Moreover, Sapkota's stories depict human relations, love, reminiscence and transitions.
Sapkota is one of the foremost contemporary Nepali authors who also writes poetry and essays in the social realism genre. The new edition's price is fixed at Rs. 495.
