Government land found encroached in Hetauda

BY RAMMANI DAHAL,Hetauda, Sept. 3: Some local clubs and individuals in Hetauda have been encroaching on government land under the name of the Natural Reservoir Fisheries Promotion and Conservation Centre, Hetauda, in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-5. 

It has been found that six individuals encroached upon six anaas of land, constructing houses and sheds to settle there. 

Meanwhile, the centre has initiated work to remove such structures. Head of the centre, Saroj Kumar Yadav, said that they issued a public notice on Saturday asking them to remove the illegally constructed structure within 35 days.

The centre has also warned the people staying in one of the centre’s buildings to vacate the building immediately. Yadav informed that Prem Bahadur Pariyar, an employee of the centre, was also found using the centre’s building for personal use. 

According to initial estimation, nine individuals and clubs have encroached upon seven katthas and 13 dhurs of land. 

While investigating the land under the centre’s name, it was discovered that many individuals and clubs were using it for personal purposes. 

Yadav said that during a survey conducted by the survey officers, if was found that the land of plot number 96 was encroached the most. He also said that discussions were ongoing in the Council of Ministries on how to manage the governmental land, currently being used by the Piple Youth Culb. 

He said that the club had established a sports stadium by encroaching on the centre’s land. Meanwhile, the Bagmati Provincial government, local government, public and private sectors had invested significantly in the construction of the ground. The club had established Piple Campa Stadium and Health Post on the encroached land.

Yadav informed that people had constructed concrete houses, temporary sheds and even operated shops, restaurants on the encroached land. 

The centre had asked Bishnu Prasad Dangal, Dhan Bahadur Lama, Sabitri Bajracharya (Kunwar), Naveen Shrestha, Uddhav Chaulagai and Padam Bahadur Khadka, who are occupying the land of the centre’s plot number 96, to vacate it immediately by removing the structures built there. 

It has been found that Piple Youth Club has encroached upon eight bighas, 13 kattas and 18 dhur of land for the construction of the stadium. 

Due to the centre’s lack of the interest in protecting the land for a long time, it has been found that many lands of the centre were encroached upon lately. 

Natural Reservoir Fisheries Promotion and Conservation Centre, Hetauda was established in 1967 for the development of fisheries sector in 49 hectares of land.
