Socialist Front created to fight regression: Nepal

By Our Correspondent,Bhairahawa, Aug. 30:Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the was formed in opposition to regressive steps. 

He added that its formation aimed to unite all left-wing, patriotic, and democratic forces against regression and unfair measures in order to support the people.

Speaking at a press conference organised by Samajwadi Press Organisation Nepal Rupandehi in Bhairahawa on Tuesday, chairman Nepal said, "This is a front formed against regression, regressive actions and unjust actions. It will cooperate through progressive programmes in accordance with the principles of socialism."

He said that along with the development of the country, the front would work for the liberation of people oppressed by class, caste and region, as well as the transformation of labour culture and economic prosperity. 

He pointed out that the country was facing an economic crisis due to the domination of middlemen and capitalist brokers. He said that in order to solve the political, social, cultural and economic problems in the country, the front had built its branches in all the seven provinces.

Stating that there was no possibility of unification of the CPN (Unified Socialist) with other parties, he said that they would move forward by strengthening the alliance. He also urged the workers to address the problems and demands of the people both from the House and the streets.

Mentioning the recent Dharan incident, he said that there had been efforts to disrupt social harmony and urged everyone to maintain religious harmony among each other. 

He said that since Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and multi-lingual country, all ethnicities and religions should be protected. 

He said that Nepal was the mother of Hinduism and Buddhism and appealed to take initiative for the preservation of Sanatam Dharma culture.
