Morang's shortest woman receives citizenship

By Our Correspondent,Urlabari, Aug. 16: Malati Rishidev, popular as the shortest woman of Morang, has received her citizenship certificate.

The Morang District Administration Office gave the 24-year-old, a resident of Badahara Khagtol, Sundarharaicha Municipality–4, her citizenship on August 3. 

Assistant Chief District Officer Pradip Shah granted her the birth right citizenship on the recommendation of Kailash Basnet, chairman of Sundarharaicha Ward No. 4.

Rishidev is 32 inches tall and weighs 14 kilograms. 

As per the ward office, she was born on September 3, 1999.

Rishidev's father Ramesh Murar (Rishidev) has passed away. 

Her mother Mina Rishidev is the sole breadwinner of the family who crushes gravel to make money. Unable to get citizenship in the absence of her father, Rishidev had been receiving Rs. 4,000 per month from the then mayor of  Sundarharaicha Municipality Shiva Prasad Dhakal.
