By Our Correspondent,Nepalgunj, Aug. 16: The Kalpana Foundation Nepal unveiled a collection of stories titled ‘Kachahari,’ authored by Kalpana Paudel (Jigyasu) on Tuesday.
In the event held in Nepalgunj, literary figures were also honoured.
Prof. Dr. Krishna Prasad Ghimire, a member of the Lumbini State University Commission, and Sanata Kumar Regmi, the former member secretary of Pragya Pratishthan, jointly launched the book.
Kalpana Paudel, the president of the foundation, is the author.
As part of the event, the Foundation presented the ‘Manikarna-Tikaram Smriti Puraskar’ to senior storyteller Sanata Regmi and the ‘Deukala-Tikanidhi Smriti Puraskar’ to the Manavsewa Ashram Nepalgunj.
Litterateur Charitra Shah provided a critical review of the story collection ‘Kachahari’, while Professor Sashiram Karki and writers Kiran Acharya, Khagendra Giri Kopila, Pankaj Shrestha, Mani Aryal, Dr. Indra Bahadur Bhandari, Hari Timilsina, and Urwin Sapkota discussed the themes of the 15 stories included in the collection.
The speakers noted that the stories portrayed the realities of society, shedding light on issues such as the challenges faced by oppressed women, the elderly, foreign employment, and the problems experienced by the Madhesi, Muslim, Tharu, and Hilly regions' communities.
Author Paudel expressed that the event motivated her to write even more compellingly in the future.
