By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 2: Actress Surakshya Panta has been roped in to do ‘Karsang’ directed by Yam Sherpa.
The movie will have Dayahang Rai and Buddhi Tamang as lead actors wit newcomer Chhiring Sherpa as its actress. The film is being produced under the banner of Yarsa Films.
The narrative of ‘Karsang’ revolves around the social dynamics of the Sherpa caste.
Sherpa, who has previously directed many short films, also penned the film's story, screenplay, and dialogue.
Sherpa disclosed that the remaining cast and crew members would be finalised shortly, with auditions planned to find the rest of the actors.
Sherpa is not only directing but also co-producing the film, with Purushottam Pradhan as the cinematographer.
The production team has planned to begin its shooting around Tihar. Barhabise Municipality and other areas within the Bhotekosi Rural Municipality are locations selected for its shooting.
‘Karsang’s international distribution rights have already been sold before production begins.
The Seven Seas Entertainment Company will be releasing the film internationally, following an agreement with the production team.
Domestic distribution will be handled by RR Films (Rohit-Ratna). Following the successful sale of its overseas rights, Director Sherpa revealed that ‘Karsang’ will have a simultaneous release in both Nepal and abroad.
